We finally got to go camping this past week. We've been trying to for about a month, but it's either stormed or been way too hot almost every week! We did it a little differently this year because of Caleb. We didn't want Caleb to have to sleep in a tent this young, so he and I went home both nights and left Gabe and Mike and then came back in the mornings. Although we did do naps in the tent and they went pretty good. The whole trip was almost ruined by a 10 minute unexpected down pour. The tent windows were still open and everything got wet........so......I drove back home that day to get them new bedding. Then the rest of the weather was okay...until we went to pack up on the last day and it sprinkled only when we were taking down the tents!!!! Oh well, at least it didn't downpour then! Caleb loved it, but he loves being outside anyway, as well as Gabe. We did some hiking and made it to the nature center and pool once. Mike and I decided camping is not nearly as relaxing as it was without kids. It will become alot more fun once they are a little older and can both hike without being carried, and also when we don't have to take out a big chunk of the afternoon for napping. We got to use our 2 new tents also. Before we had a 3 person tent that was very crowded with Mike, Gabe, and I the last 2 years. Now we have a 6 person tent that also has a room divider. Much roomier! Also we now have a dining tent.
Here they are holding a tiny frog.
