Gabe's first major boo boo

Wednesday night Gabe was horsing around like usual in the evening when he threw himself into a small chest we have in our bedroom. Mike was with him at the time and said it sounded really painful and loud. He called me home from church and said there was a lot of blood and he did know what he should do. When I got home one arm of Mike's shirt was covered in blood and Gabe's shirt had a lot of blood also. His 2 front teeth had pretty much gone through his upper lip, but his teeth seemed fine. We decided not to go to the ER since he started acting pretty normal. He wouldn't let us put ice on it though. So, thursday morning when I went in to get him up I about freaked out. His upper lip was extremely swollen. I immediately called the doctor to see what they thought I should do. They got us into see the Dr. first thing. Gabe did very well when she stuck her fingers all around the wound and checked for loose teeth, I was very proud of him. She said the swelling was very normal and it should go down in a day or two. She also said his teeth looked fine, but with this kind of impact they could possibly turn grey later on. :(
I'm just thankful that he's not loosing any teeth.

This picture is on thursday evening after the swelling had gone down quite a bit.
He's trying to smile, but it still kinda hurt to.

Snow!!!

We finally got some of the snow they had been warning us about last weekend. It still wasn't really enough to build a snowman or play in really. Gabe still loved it though. Gabe was sick earlier this week with a cold and then I got it, but it turned into the flu for me. blah! I'm still not 100%, but better then I've been in a few days. Luckily Mike hasn't gotten it yet. He's in charge of an event called "county band" this monday so he can't get sick. It's where the 4 smaller county schools gets together to form one large band for a day and they bring in a guest conductor.
Gabe all bundled up to go out and play.
He was having fun throwing the snow.
This is a poor excuse for a snowman, but Gabe really wanted one.
It's not really a snowman, it's an "iceman". There was alomost an inch of ice on top of the snow.
